Working Together Wednesday: Mama Love Collective with Andi

Happy Hump Day!!! Welcome to yet another Working Together Wednesday. Today we will learn about Mama Love Collective, and the amazing Andrea Franklin. Let’s get this party started, shall we???

Tell Me About Yourself.

I’m Andi! Stay-at-home mom, wife, person, just trying to weed my way through life one load of laundry and toddler tantrum at a time. I love to cook, drink wine by the bottle, and awkwardly exercise in my living room with the blinds open. I blog over at www.lendmeyourkite.com where I chronicle the trials and triumphs of motherhood. I also started my passion project, Mama Love Collective, where I create gift boxes for mamas in need of a little love and encouragement. I firmly believe that we are not meant to do this life alone, and it has become my mission to serve as many women as I can and help pull them out of the trenches of motherhood that so many of us find ourselves in, silently struggling.

What Is Your Business?

I call it Mama Love Collective, because the entire premise of the company is people collectively gathering around moms to show them that they are important, that they matter, that someone sees them. I hand select items each month from other small businesses and/or companies that give back, to include in the boxes. We offer a smaller box, “sprinkler her with love”, and a larger one, “shower her with love”, so that we are able to work with everyones budget. You have the option to send the box anonymously, with a message, or even donate a box to a mama in a women’s shelter. I am currently partnered with WomenShelter of Long Beach, so all donated boxes go to the victims of assault they are currently caring for.
What Is One Lesson You Have Learned While In This Business?
People can tell when you are not being authentic. It can be difficult to trust in yourself and your vision when you see so many other people doing things beautifully and differently, but if you try and copy what they are doing instead of doing what feels right and comes natural to you, then people will be able to tell and you will not succeed. Staying true to yourself is so essential.
What is the best advice you have ever received while in this business?
Go for it. Honestly, that was the most powerful advice I’ve ever received. So many of us have all of these dreams in our heads, but we over rationalize with ourselves and convince our hearts that they are frivolous and naive. But if someone is out there in the world doing the things you dream about doing yourself, then they are clearly possible — so why can’t it be you?
What is your best advice on life in general?
Show up. Show up for the people in your life that bring you joy. Show up for your passions, your business, your hobbies. Put in the work and just show up. Every single day. Because happiness and success are waiting for you, all you have to do is make it to the party.
Let’s get social. Where can we find you on the net?

So, WHO exactly is WTW for, you may ask??? It is for anyone who has a blog, brand, business, or cause that is not nationally known. How is this determined??? Well, if you think you may NOT qualify, send me an email and I’ll look over it and see, but most everyone who isn’t a national chain will be good. 😉  If you you are in direct sales or network marketing, we want to hear your story here too. Are you a creative that makes and sells stuff??? Click the link and fill it out. I want 2017 to be the year of MORE for everyone. More exposure, more clients, more followers, more readers, more sales, more income. Let’s make this happen. Let us help promote you starting next week.

Working Together Wednesday: Kettlebell Burn

Working (2)

Happy Wednesday!!! On today’s Working Together Wednesday, we talk to Justin Cox, from Kettlebell Burn. Justin is an amazing man with a true passion for helping women get into shape, and I have had the pleasure of working with Justin and I must say, I so glad I did. His passion truly shines through in what he does.

Ready to learn more about Kettlebell Burn and Justin??? Here we go!!!

1. Give us a quick intro of you and your family.

Hey! Thanks for interviewing me. I really appreciate it. My name is Justin Cox, and I own Kettlebell Burn. I have a beautiful daughter who is 7 years old. And in true princess fashion will be turning 29 this fall. She is my world, and also the reason I train.

Let’s see, my background. Hmm. Well I grew up as an athlete. I was a competitive athlete from the age of 5 until 25 when my daughter was born. So I have always been in the fitness world. When I got to college and discovered that I could make a career out of being in fitness, there was no turning back. I immediately became a personal trainer, and completed got my degree in Exercise Science.

After college I decided to continue to grow my personal training business and soon opened up my own studio. I was an in person personal trainer for over 10 years before I decided to move my business online. That is where I developed a deep understanding of working with women. I know it sounds cliche. Everyone in the fitness world says they work with moms. But it turns out that the market for athletes, my original specialty, in rural northern MN is pretty slim. So I spent 10 years working with, and getting to know on a deep level, how to work with women.

What motivates them. What their true fears are. What they really want to achieve. All of that combined with my unique lifestyle / habit based coaching is what I bring to the online world.

That pretty much brings us up to today.

2. What is your business/blog?
My website is KBBURN.com

That is my center of operations and where I do all of my coaching from. I am going to warn you though, if you go to that website, you won’t find a lot. I spend most of my time working with my members rather than writing a ton of blog content. In fact, I don’t think I even have a current blog post active on the menu.

3. What is your best piece of advice?
I love this question. Because it is never what people think it is. My best advice is to start easy.

Everyone always thinks it will be something about kettlebells, or some diet tip. In reality, the biggest problem I see when women get started with a new transformation program is that they fall into the trap of feeling they need to be extreme. But you can’t blame them either. With the popularity of the Beach Body workouts (P90X, Insanity, Hard Corps, etc..) and CrossFit, we as a culture have this thing right now about being extreme when it comes to fitness.

We want to start an extreme workout everyday, we want to completely overhaul our diets, we want to go 100 miles per hour in this direction and then that direction. What ends up happening is that the stress of it all quickly overwhelms us and we end up dropping the program withing a few short weeks. It is far and few between the people who have success stories from doing it that way.

In reality, what moms need to do is lighten up on themselves, accept that it won’t happen in 12 weeks, even though all the magazines and ads keep saying it will, and start with something easy. Start with something easy that allows them to get some initial success which will then begin to snowball and have huge effects over time. But by doing it this way, they wont feel overwhelmed in the process and will be able to keep rocking the whole time.

For example, one of my foundation habits: Getting 8 hours of sleep, drinking half your bodyweight in ounces of water everyday, and taking your multivitamins/fish oil everyday. Those are 3 great and easy places to start. Start with one of those and then progress into harder things like working out everyday.

4. Where can we find you? (like an email, or your social media networks)
My Facebook is a great place to start.  facebook.com/OfficialKBBurn

My website is  kbburn.com
You can email me directly at CoachCoxOfficial@gmail.com

Working Together Wednesday: Sharon Ballantine

Working (2)

Wow, I can’t believe it is June 1st already. I’m excited to be back with a slightly different format for today’s Working Together Wednesday. If you have read my blog lately, then you know that I am becoming quite the fan of parenting books, now that I’m learning to take what works for our family and leave the rest. I was thrilled when I was asked to check out Sharon Ballantine’s book “The Art of Blissful Parenting“.

Now, before I go any further, I want to say I was given this book for free to review and was considering doing a regular review post because of this, however, the more I am reading about this amazing lady the more I wanted to bring more about her to the table.

Sharon Ballantine is a mother to 3 children. She enjoys motherhood and spending time with her children. She is also an author and a Parenting & Life Coach. She is founder of The Ballantine Parenting Institute, an online course for parents which features 10 modules, 30 videos, Playbook questions and short tests. She also offers Life and Parent Coaching in convenient packages.

In her book, she talks about learning to follow your Internal Guidance System and staying aligned as key points to being a more effective parent. Her main goal is to help parents learn to follow their own Internal Guidance System, while teaching their children to follow their own Internal Guidance System in order to have a more peaceful life together.

I was quite impressed with the first couple of chapters for my own personal use. I think lots of us could use to be more positive and have a better outlook on our situation. Reading further I’m thankful I am keeping this book, as it will come in handy as the girls get older.

Over all, I am definitely pleased to have this book, and intrigued to put the basic principles to use in our life.

You can Follow Sharon on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Google+

Thanks Sharon, for sharing your book and parenting products with us.
