It’s Baaaack!!! Working Together Wednesday: Promote Your Brand, Business, Or Cause

Happy Hump Day, ladies and gents!!! Hope this week has been great so far. Exciting things are going on behind the scenes of AOBM and I’m excited. Starting next, Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, we will be bringing back Working Together Wednesday. Let us promote you.

If you are unsure what Working Together Wednesday (WTW) is, let me explain it. Being a small business owner, I know how hard it is to move past your own warm and some luke-warm market. It can be daunting to get your name out there, and ABOM wants to help.

So, WHO exactly is WTW for, you may ask??? It is for anyone who has a blog, brand, business, or cause that is not nationally known. How is this determined??? Well, if you think you may NOT qualify, send me an email and I’ll look over it and see, but most everyone who isn’t a national chain will be good. 😉  If you you are in direct sales or network marketing, we want to hear your story here too. Are you a creative that makes and sells stuff??? Click the link and fill it out. I want 2017 to be the year of MORE for everyone. More exposure, more clients, more followers, more readers, more sales, more income. Let’s make this happen. Let us help promote you starting next week.

Here is the link to the form. Fill it out as completely as possible and I will be sending you and email confirming your spot with us.  Looking forward to working with you all in 2017.

Inspirational Parents Giveaway

InspirationalParents25.00 Target Gift CardGiveaway!!!

*Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post by Born This Way TV Show on A&E. I received compensation for this post, however all opinions are my own.

Being a mom is hard. I mean really, there are critics everywhere you go, and so many opinions. As much as being a mom is hard, being a mom of a child with a disability is an entirely different kind of hard.

I consider the parents of children with disabilities an inspiration. They have to be strong when they don’t know what is going to happen. They have to keep spirits up when they feel like hope is gone. Being a parent of a child with special needs myself, I get it.

My child may not be in the same situation as yours, but this mama understands a few of the things you go through. The loneliness, the second guessing every decision you make, and dealing with people who think they understand, but clearly don’t.

We as mamas put ourselves last. We run to therapies, and Dr appointments. We buy special equipment for our littles. So many times I have decided I was going to buy something I wanted, but then I found a new toy that could help with self regulation, or a compression shirt or chewie that I hoped would help instead.

For the above reasons I am thrilled that I have been chosen to share a very special Giveaway on my blog sponsored by the TV Show Born This Way.

This Giveaway is for 1 very special MOM who is raising a child with a disability. This will be a very different giveaway. I am asking YOU my dear readers, to nominate, in the comments, a mom who you think deserves to win. The prize is a 25.00 gift card to Target. Please make sure this mom would be willing to share a little bit of their story, and able to contact us either via email or phone.

I will keep this giveaway open until Next Friday (August 12th at Noon Eastern time). That afternoon one (or both) of my daughter(s) will be seen either on a Live video (Facebook Live) or we will record the video and post it to Facebook with a Live drawing of the winner!!!

If you haven’t seen Born This Way it airs on A&E every Tuesday night. The young adults they follow are a delightful bunch and the twists and turns in life will keep you cheering, bring you to tears, and make you proud to be a human 🙂

Good Luck!!!

Working Together Wednesday: Calling All Bloggers, Brands, and Causes

Working (2)

Calling all Bloggers, Businesses, and Causes:

It’s been a while since I’ve featured someone on Working Together Wednesday, and that seems to have been a very popular feature on the blog. I’m looking to start this back up and I’d love to have several weeks worth of these scheduled throughout the summer and beginning of the school year.

What exactly IS Working Together Wednesday??? It was an idea I had to bring new bloggers, brands, and causes to my readers. It’s a very easy to answer, interview style post where I’ll send you questions to answer and then your answers along with pics you provide will be posted and promoted on my blog. It’s completely free, no obligations from you other than answering the questions.

Part of the reason I started this blog was to give back, to help, to contribute something to the community and to anyone who stops my my little blogging paradise. Working Together Wednesday is just one of those ways.

I have had so much fun getting to know some great causes, bloggers, and brands over the last few months, and I can’t wait to meet some new people. If you or someone you know has a blog, brand, or cause and would like to have it featured on Working Together Wednesday, please send an email to me at adventuresofbutmom@gmail.com with the subject Working Together Wednesday. I’ll send you over the list of 4 questions, and you can answer them in as much or as little detail as you’d like.

It has been a great run with this so far. Thanks so much to those who have already allowed me the honor of promoting your cause, blog or brand. Looking forward to a whole new meeting new people.

Working Together Wednesday: The Great Bike Giveaway

Bring you New Bloggers, Businesses, and Causes

Happy Hump Day!!!  Today on Working together Wednesday, I have a cause that I’d like to share with you all. The Great Bike Giveaway, is all about helping kids with special needs, get special adaptive bicycles that they can ride.

The Great Bike Giveaway, created by Friendship Circle of Michigan was started as a contest to help children and teens with special needs have a chance at getting an adaptive bicycle. The idea, most of us have a story, a memory about learning to ride or just revolving around riding our bikes as children. Children with special needs may never get to know this feeling without the use of an adaptive bike which can be expensive.

GBG1

While it would be awesome enough just to giveaway a few adaptive bikes to kids with special needs, Friendship Circle is seeking enough donations to give EACH of the 600 entrants in The Great Bike Giveaway their very own adaptive bike. This is a huge undertaking, but I have a feeling, if we spread the awareness, we can reach that goal.

So, here’s the million dollar question: How can I help???  Well certainly, go check out their page, make a donation if you care to, but also check out the “Become an Ambassador” part. You’ll need to log in through your Facebook account to do so, but this is where we can really help spread the word. Become and Ambassador and share about this amazing cause on your social media accounts. The more people we reach, the more donate, the more bikes will be given away.

The official contest/donation window opened yesterday, this morning, as I checked in on the status, they already had the money for 35 bikes. The contest closes on March 30. Please help me with sharing this amazing contest/opportunity and lets get these kids the bikes they deserve.

***Friendship Circle of Michigan is a non-profit organization affiliated with Lubavitch of Michigan. Their goal is to provide every individual with special needs the support friendship and inclusion that they deserve.***

First Review: He Named Me Malala

So, it’s time for my first “official” sponsored post. I will remind you, I received the DVD for free, however all opinions are my own.  I was contacted by Review Wire Media to view the movie “He Named Me Malala”. This is an amazing story about one girl’s desire for education in an area where women are not encouraged (in fact, are forbidden) to attend school.  This is one of those topics I feel strongly about, education is the key that opens doors, and NO ONE should be kept from it.

hnmm_poster

“HE NAMED ME MALALA is an intimate portrait of Malala Yousafzai, who was wounded when Taliban gunmen opened fire on her and her friends’ school bus in Pakistan’s Swat Valley.

The then 15-year-old teenager, who had been targeted for speaking out on behalf of girls’ education in her region of Swat Valley in Pakistan, was shot in the head, sparking international media outrage.  An educational activist in Pakistan, Yousafzai has since emerged as a leading campaigner for the rights of children worldwide and in December 2014, became the youngest-ever Nobel Peace Prize Laureate.”

Those are the production notes, but even they don’t do justice to the amazing story. In addition to interviews with her and her family, there are also real-life clips of her with her family (mom, dad, and brothers) as well as clips of her speeches. Her message is one of hope and courage, and she is a role model for all children as she spoke up for what she believed in even in the face of danger.  Here is the trailer, I get goose bumps watching it:

I was quite impressed by her story, her courage and her ability to forgive and let go. I’d say this movie is a MUST watch which brings me to my next point… I’m super excited to share the upcoming Global Broadcast which will be Monday, February 29th at 8:00 PM Eastern/ 7:00 PM Central time on National Geographic Channel. I hope you take the time to watch this and let me know what you thought in the comments.

If you’d like to learn more and help girls all over receive an education, please check out Malala Fund.  Every girl deserves a quality education.

Working Together Wednesday: Owen’s Outrageous Food Fight- Pediatric GI Research

Working Together Wednesdays-Winter edition

Happy Wednesday!!!  I am SOOOO excited for #WorkingTogetherWednesday today because I was contacted by a family to help raise awareness for an awesome cause and I pretty fun way they are trying to raise money for it.  Today I will introduce you to Raymond from Owen’s Outrageous Food Fight.  This family tugged at my heart and I am going to work really hard at helping this family make this a reality.  So, here we go!!!

foodfight

Give us a quick intro of you and your family..

My wife, son (Owen) and I live in New Jersey. Owen is the inspiration for this event because he was born with issues that lead him to have short bowel syndrome. It is because of him that I was able to see that GI conditions are not as visible as other disorders nor do they receive as much funding. With his short bowel syndrome comes the inability to obtain as much nutrients as he needs so he has an NG tube and a central line for IV nutrition. Due to the IV nutrition and overnight tube feeds we have nightly nursing that help watch him so that he stays safe. But if you were to meet him you wouldn’t think there is anything different about him. He is active, plays, goes to school. And we want to keep him happy and normal which is why we want to increase awareness for conditions like his because we don’t want him to be ashamed.
What is your business/blog?
Our business is Owen’s Outrageous Food Fight and it is an event to help raise awareness and funds for pediatric GI research while having fun. It will be the food fight that you only see in the movies. The setup for the event will be like a charitable mud run. Our plan is to bring this event to as many areas as possible so that we can spread awareness and raise as much funds for research as possible.https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/owen-s-outrageous-food-fight
What is your best piece of advice?
Don’t let any situation keep your child from living a fun and fulfilling life.

Where can we find you? (like an email, or your social media networks)
Thanks so much for participating in this Raymond. This cause really gets my heart,  If you would like more information on how to help Owen’s Outrageous Food Fight, please contact them at the email above.
